Welcome

Hi. Welcome to our NEW BLOG! Thank you for visiting our site. We are a team of several people that make all this come together and happen. The blog however is updated by me, Melissa. Javier is my husband and together we started Simply Captivating Productions, Inc. in January of 2007. Our experience and passion in photography & cinematography however existed long before we gave it a name. I personally have been shooting for 8 years now, since our son was 3 months old.

In 2008 we were named as one of the best companies to use by South Florida Knotties. We were so happy, honored, and truly humbled to be picked as one of the 2008 Knot Best of Weddings! Thank you to all that voted and everyone that has sent us messages and support throughout the year!

We provide a unique perspective of your wedding through our images and footage. We love clients that are just as much excited about their memories being captured as they are about their wedding.

Below you will find all of our latest work. Each week I will post my favorite images of the week and talk a little bit about our experience on each shoot.

January!!!(and a little bit of February)

Ok so I am a little behind on posting… Will post Jan. & beginning of February today… then hopefully resume regular blogging soon

Jami & Matt, Sunrise South Beach E-session:

Stephanie & Alex > Catholic Ceremony

You probably will recognize these two right away from their TTD/2ofUs session with me at Virginia Key Beach back in November of 2007. Stephanie & Alex actually were married months before that session but had a non-denominational wedding and so were ready for their catholic ceremony.
I was so happy they asked me to shoot it.
Here are a few of my favorites!

Shirley & Hak’s 2ofUs session > Miami Beach

Shirley and Hak had horrible rain at what was supposed to be their beach side wedding in October.
This was shot 2 hours before sunset behind the Palms hotel in Miami beach.

Here are just a few of my favorites

Jenn & Nelson > Sweets at the fair

So their wedding theme is going to be Love is sweet.
She wanted a candy store however we could not find the right mis of candy store with location.
Santa’s Enchanted was the next best thing.
We had so much fun. We arrived right as they were opening so it was empty.
See some of my favorites below!!!

Angelie’s 15’s portraits at Deering Estate

I do not usually shoot these sessions unless the quinceanera is totally cool with me being a little untraditional… Angelie was so much fun! Here are just a few of my favorites. I love the Dance outfit ones!

Samantha & Steven> Miami Beach, Shane Center

Samantha & Stephen got married at the beautiful new Shane Center in Miami Beach.
The Jewish ceremony took place at sunset.
What a beautiful day it was.
Samantha & Stephen had Jennifer Johnson from www.JenniferJEvents.com coordinate their wedding and they had some out of this world stuff.
First I am a HUGE fan of up-lighting & Photo booths. The Shane Center is so great because its this big white canvas with beautiful glowing glossy floors, it can take on any personality.
I added a few decor shots since BLUE is my favorite color…
Remember to leave my blog some love and post comments below!!!

Gema & Elvis> Cool, Contemporary Pool side reception

I loved Gema & Elvis’ decor, they are the trendiest and most fashionable people I know.(not sure if those are even words, but you get it.) They are so in love & great dancers too.
I had such a great time at their wedding. Their wedding has been a long time in the making.
I met Gema back in 2006 for a fashion show I photographed at Post that she coordinated.

My favorites from the wedding…

Jennifer & Robert’s> Southwest Ranches Cuban style wedding

Jennifer & Robert are very good friends of our Very good friends, hope I didn’t loose anyone there.
They opted for a “first look” session right before the ceremony so that We could enjoy the beautiful sunsets that fall upon this beautiful ranch.
If you would like info on this ranch email me, I do not have the info handy right now.

Jeannette & Juan’s>Sobe Lincoln Road E-session: Sunrise!

Jeannette & Juan brought along their ever so cute doggie along for some shots… Poor Jeannette’s Mom had to doggy sit the entire session, she was a real trooper heading all up and down lincoln road with us.
I was sad to see so many homeless people living on the beach. Most looked as if they were regular people that had just lost their jobs. I was surprised.
Which leads me to also let you guys know I will be posting some info on how each and everyone of us can help and contribute this season and all year round… More of that coming soon.
But for now some of my favs… from a sunrise session!

Natalie & Warren>Las Olas Riverfront E-session

As you will see Natalie & Warren are too cool!!! I loved this session. I forgot to add photo of a ferrari that a very nice man and his wife asked if we wanted to use, of course we said YES…
That was the funny part of the session.
Natalie is Rachelle’s sister (wedding in Orlando in Sept.) and we all basically grew up together like cousins when we were young. I am so excited to be shooting Natalie & Warren’s wedding in April at the Mayfair!!!
YAY!!
Some favs below.
