Longan’s Place is a longan grove first and a wedding venue second — the place is named after the tree — which is exactly why it photographs the way it does. The trees were here long before anyone strung a light through them, and they are still the best thing on the property.

It is green, open and unhurried in a way that is rarer in Miami than people realize. You are not fitting a wedding into a room. You are spreading it out across a piece of land.

We shoot here often enough that we no longer go looking for the light. Below are a few of the weddings.

The city lets go somewhere along the drive south. By the time your guests arrive they have already slowed down — and that shows up in the pictures.
